Lotto / Tips & Tricks
If you’re like most people, you probably like to have a dabble at the lottery every now and again. The thing is, choosing which lottery numbers to players actually quite a bit harder than you probably think – so here, we’re going to share a few unique ways you can pick your lottery ticket to the next draw.
Everyone knows how to play the lottery – you simply choose the lottery you want to play, pick your lucky numbers, and hope for the best…
But did you know there are ways in which you can increase your chances of winning? Below, we’re going to take a look at how you maximise your chances of winning.
One of the best strategies for winning on your lottery tickets is to choose the same numbers every time you play the lottery. While this doesn’t – of course – actually change the odds of you winning, it does ensure that you’re playing the same set of numbers every time, which means you’ll avoid the dreaded playing a lottery in the numbers you played last time other ones to come in.
This is simply when it comes down to statistic; the more tickets you buy the more likely you are to win, and while you should only ever buy as many tickets as you can financially afford, it makes sense that the more tickets you purchase the better your chances of winning – the tried to buy four or five tickets for each draw, as this will massively increase the chances of winning.
Take the sequence of numbers one, two, three, four, and five. If you are to choose these numbers on your lottery tickets, if you to hit the jackpot you would end up sharing it amongst hundreds – possibly even thousands of other players. Number sequences like these are played more than any other number set in the world, so when you’re playing the lottery you should always choose unique numbers, or do a lucky dip, and this will ensure that when you do win, you get as much cash as possible.
This one of the best ways to choose your lottery tickets, and if you don’t want to use your birthdate, simply use that of your friends or family. The reason this works so well, is that many lotteries require you to pick six numbers, so you can use a birthdate in a six digit format – for example, 14/05/1983.
Of course, if you win the lottery using a friend or family member’s birthday – well, let’s just say you may want to consider sharing a bit of the jackpot with them!
Winning the lottery is no sure-fire thing… but did you know, there are ways that you can boost your odds of winning?
Follow the four tips in this article to discover how YOU can improve your chances of winning the lotteries you play! These tips are given by Richard Lustig – a seven-time lottery winner, in a recent interview he did with Good Morning America. Lustig says that, I quote: "By choosing your own numbers, rather than relying on Quick Picks, you increase your odds of winning. You also decrease the chance of someone else having the same numbers as you (meaning you keep more if you win.)"
Virtually every single lotto in the world offers a lucky dip function, and this is where the numbers for your ticket are generated randomly as opposed to being chosen by you. While it may seem – at first – but this doesn’t enhance your odds of winning at all, experts of actually analyse this and come to the conclusion that you have a better chance of winning, simply down to the fact that less players will be playing these numbers. Of course, and change your actual odds of winning the jackpot, but it does ensure that when you do win, you win a bigger prize – and that’s what’s really important, right?
Check If Your Numbers Have Won Before. If They Have; Don’t Play Them. Going against many mathematicians, Lustig advises players to research their numbers online, before they play - and change their numbers if it turns out they’ve won before.
"Luck has absolutely nothing to do with it," he said.... "How can anybody in their right mind say this guy's won seven times he's just a lucky guy? Come on. Nobody can be that lucky."
Following on from choosing your numbers, Lustig advises you always to play the same 10 sets of numbers. This means you have set numbers (you’re not choosing random numbers each week), and it also ensures you don’t experience that heart-stopping moment when your old numbers come in - but you didn’t have them!
It’s quite common in the lottery for numbers to go long periods of time without appearing even once. This is actually a pretty cool strategy to use when picking your lottery numbers, and you can use a variety of tools online to see which numbers haven’t appeared in a certain lottery for a while. Then, you can simply pull these numbers together, and choose them when purchasing your next lottery ticket – eventually have got coming right?
Remember, there is no hard-by way of winning the lottery, and at the end of the day it does all come down to luck. However, by following the advice we shared, you can maximise your chances of winning – or, at least maximise the amount of money you win when you match some of your numbers – but above all else, remember that the lottery is a game of luck, and you should never enter it thinking that you will be able to beat the system or win. You shouldn’t play the lottery with the mindset that you can or will win or you can beat the system. Play it for fun or STOP!
